Writing and scheduling a post
Writing the post
- Open Publish and start a new post, or press Cmd K and type "write".
- Tick every account the post goes to. One post can go to several networks at once.
- Write the caption. A counter under the box shows how much of each network's limit you have used, counted the way that network counts.
- To say something different on one network, write a separate caption for that network. The others keep the shared one.
- Attach media from your library, upload new files, or search stock photos.
- Check the Preview section, which shows the post roughly as each account's network displays it.
Three ways to finish
Schedule this post puts it in the queue at the time you picked, on the workspace clock. Publish now sends it immediately. Save as draft keeps it on Publish without scheduling it, so you can come back to it.
A scheduled time has to be ahead of the workspace clock. If the time you picked has already passed, the composer says so and offers Publish now instead.
Queue slots
Queue slots are recurring weekly times, such as Tuesdays at 09:00, set on Publish. Once you have them, a new post can drop into the next free slot instead of you picking a time by hand.
If a post does not go out
A post that failed carries the network's own reason on the post in the queue. A post marked missed passed its time without being sent, for example because publishing was paused. Both are on Publish rather than in a log.
